Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The singer has been able to make major international breakthroughs into the Latin pop mainstream. Una Lady Como Tu, the song that he released in 2016, received the Colombian Kids Choice Award in 2017. It was awarded for best Song. His debut album was a long-player ADN with the Sony-owned company based in Medellin, La Industria Inc. The album reached the number 8 spot at the top of the Top Latin Albums chart. Vaina Loca was an instant Top Five hit for Ozuna and him the year after. He collaborated on a track with Noriel in the song Mala Influencia in the year 2020, and the following year released his sophomore album the chart-topping Dopamina. In 2021, he also performed the duet for TINI's streaming top-selling single Maldita Foto. The smash hit La Bachata from 2000 was published in 2023. His mother and brother also played instruments when he was born. According to him, music was an integral part of his life. As a child, he was instructed to perform on the piano, saxophone as well as guitar. His initial choice of career was to become a vet, but his brother Julian convinced him to study to sing by working with a Cuban teacher. In the end, discovering that he had an aptitude for singing, changed the trajectory of his life.
